How this work goes

We build decks and porches as outdoor work on a home or project. That is a platform off the house, a covered porch, or a rebuild of one that is worn out.

From first call to finished work

What to expect

  1. 1

    Describe the outdoor space

Call and say whether you want a new deck, a porch, or a replacement. Tell us how you plan to use it and which side of the house it sits on.

  2. 2

Look at the house and the ground

We check where the structure meets the house, what the ground is like under it, and how people will get up and down.

  3. 3

    Set the layout and footings

The size is marked and footings go in so the frame has something solid to stand on. We do not guess a build time. Weather and the site change that.

  4. 4

    Frame and deck the surface

Joists and the connection to the house go in, then the walking surface: deck boards on a deck, or the porch floor.

  5. 5

    Rails, stairs, and cover

Railings and stairs are built when the plan calls for them. A porch can also include posts and a roof over the floor.

  6. 6

    Walk it with you

We go over the finished deck or porch so you can see the structure, the surface, and the way on and off.
