How this work goes

This covers excavation, Bobcat services, and ICF foundation work. It is the site and foundation side of a Bellex job: digging, moving soil with a skid steer, and building the foundation the rest of the project sits on.

From first call to finished work

What to expect

  1. 1

    Describe the site

Call and tell us what needs to happen on the ground. That might be a new foundation, a dig for an addition, or material that has to be moved in a tight yard.

  2. 2

    Check access and the soil

We look at how a machine can get in, where dirt can go, and what is already in the way. Utilities and existing structures stay part of that conversation.

  3. 3

    Excavate

The hole or the grade is opened to the depth the foundation needs. A skid steer, the kind of machine people often call a Bobcat, handles tighter spots, backfill, and moving material around the site.

  4. 4

    Set the ICF foundation

ICF means insulating concrete forms. Foam blocks are stacked into the wall shape, braced, and filled with concrete. The foam stays in place, so the wall is both the foundation and a layer of insulation.

  5. 5

    Place the concrete

Concrete goes into the forms. It has to cure before the next stage loads it. How long that takes depends on the pour and the weather, so we do not name a number of days here.

  6. 6

Backfill and leave a working site

Soil goes back around the foundation and the grade is shaped so the build can continue.
